BOOKING NOW OPEN: Medical Psychotherapy Trainees’ and Trainers’ Conference 2023 - “Psychotherapy at Play”

We are delighted to announce that booking is now open for the 2023 Medical Psychotherapy Trainees’ and Trainers’ Conference, taking place on Friday 26^thMay at the Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham. 

 This year for the first time we are hosting a collaborative conference, organised jointly by medical psychotherapy trainees and PsychArt, a trainee-led organisation celebrating the arts in psychiatry.

This year’s conference, Psychotherapy at Play, is an invitation for us to explore the central role of play in psychotherapeutic work, considering how creativity can enhance our work with individual patients, and looking at creative applications of psychotherapeutic theory outside the realm of the consulting room.

To explore these ideas, we have a variety of fascinating speakers and workshops lined up, as well as an art competition with an exhibition on the day – full details of how to submit your artwork can be found via the booking link below. There will be a psychotherapy higher trainees’ meeting at lunchtime, and an evening social giving us a chance to get together and relax at the end of the day.
